AAAARRRGGGHHH!
Its fair to say
unless you are climbing Everest
or going to a triathlon training camp
that its unlikely you will lose weight or get fitter on holiday
shock horror
but its not all doom and gloom
coming back a couple of pounds heavier is no big deal and can be dropped pretty quickly
or even just maintaining your weight is a huge win
AND for most of my clients
city workers
business owners
professionals
who are desk bound
like a few cheeky pints after a stressful day
eat well and by well i mean nice restaurants or lunches bought by clients (calorific)
stressed
not sleeping the best
a holiday can actually be a meaningful break from all this
yes there will be alcohol involved
and probably ice cream
but you will be moving a shed load more
walking
swimming
playing with the kids
BBQ’d food and salad in the heat
walking 10k steps on holiday is a much easier affair
theres roughly 500 calories
or a bottle of prosecco accounted for (not that youd drink that much a day right!!!)
there are plenty of things you can do whilst away
things youd not have the time to do at home
activities you dont have access to here
im going to surf (probably me in the photo there) and the odd run
whilst playing with 3 kids …bat and ball, throwing them in the sea, carrying them on shoulders and other ‘fun stuff’
what will/ can you do whilst away?
it doesnt have to be regimented
just enough to keep the holiday fun but not a complete step back
comment below with ideas to help out
and most importantly ENJOY your break from the ol routine
